Soft and Fudgy Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Have you ever craved a chocolate treat that would leave your content after just one slice? Well, this Soft and Fudgy Chocolate Brownie recipe is perfect for that, this brownie has just enough chocolate to leave you wanting more but filling you up…

Ingredients

  • 200g Chocolate
  • 120g Unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g Brown Sugar ( I recommend Dark Brown)
  • 40 Plain flour
  • 25 Cocoa

Method:

Preheat your oven at 180 degrees/356 Fahrenheit

  1. Place a pot of water on your stove on high heat, whilst the water comes to a boil let’s prepare the chocolate mixture
  2. Chop your 200g of chocolate and place it into a mixing bowl ( a bowl that can withstand heat and won’t break) To that mixing bowl add the 120g of unsalted butter.
  3. Place the mixing bowl over the hot water and allow the steam to completely melt the mixture
  4. After melted take the chocolate mixture off the heat and save it for a the next step
  5. In a separate mixing bowl wisk the eggs and the brown sugar together until well combined then place the bowl over the pot of hot water and keep mixing until the sugar has dissolved

Why does the brownie turn out soft?

It’s because of this next step…

6. Using a hand mixer or a wisk beat the eggs and the dissolved sugar together until the mixture gains volume and is more pale/creamy in colour

7. Now add the chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture and mix until well combined

8.Sieve the flour and cocoa powder into the mixing bowl at the same time and fold them into the mixture

For extra chocolate goodness add some chocolate chunks into the mixture before putting it in the oven as these chocolate chunks will melt inside the brownie whilst baking

Place in the oven at 180 degrees/356 Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes

Tips:

  1. Once the brownie looks nearly ready but is still a bit soft sprinkle some coarse sea salt, I love doing this because the salt adds that little bit of extra taste that I crave from brownies
  2. Serve with your favourite ice cream! Mine’s vanilla 😉
